Arbor Day Tree Planting Training

Arbor Day Tree Planting Training

Hello again everyone and a happy 2019 to all of you. It has been a while since our last post and we want all of you to know that we are still alive and kickin’, much like our foster trees, pictured above.

We have been hard at work making plans with the City of Ferndale to plant up to 280 trees with them this year. To kick off the 2019 Tree Planting season, we are proud to announce that we will be holding an Arbor Day Tree Planting Training at the Kulick Community Center in Ferndale on April 27 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

We encourage you to come out and learn how to be a Social Forester. The morning session from 10:00 to Noon will cover proper tree planting techniques, tool safety and volunteer management skills. Then we feed you lunch.

After lunch we will travel to Wanda Park where experienced Social Foresters will hone the skills you learned in the classroom as you plant your own tree, continuing to learn how to teach others to do the same.

At the conclusion of the training you will be on your way to becoming a Social Forester and will be ready to lead residents of Ferndale and other volunteers in proper tree planting practices at future events this Spring and Fall . There will be a social event in Ferndale following the conclusion of training.

You can sign up here.
